Avtec offers engine and transmission components, high precision gears & shafts

Gears are toothed wheels that transfer the rotational motion from one shaft to another and ascertain the speed, torque, and direction of rotation of machine components. Normally gears are classified into two major parts. The first one connects with the parallel shafts, and the other type of gears connects to the nonparallel shafts.

What is the use of gears and shafts?
Gears can help as an efficient means to change the direction of motion of one shaft. Gears can also change the rotational speed and can also be used to change the axis on which rotary motion is occurring on. Gear size usually depends on the shaft on which it is needed to be mounted and the also depends on the desired gear ratio.

Because of their ability to transfer the motion from one shaft to another, gears and shafts both have found their place in almost all the machinery and all of the automobiles. In Automobiles gears and shafts has become one of the important parts of the vehicles. As gears and shafts is the part of the transmission system of a vehicle.

Depends on its use there are several types of gears some of them are mentioned below.
Spur Gear: These are the most common types of gear. Use to transfer the energy from one shaft to another that are placed parallel to each other.
Helical Gears: It is the modified version of spur gear and it is designed to lower the noise.
Bevel Gears: Bevel gears are used at the place where both the shafts are on the different axis, and the motion is required to transmit on different axis
