All you need to know about transmission of a vehicle

Nowadays the automotive companies are focusing more on automatic transmission rather than manual. Most of the upcoming cars are based on automatic transmission components. What are the different types of transmission available on the market?
Currently, there are three types of transmission components available in the automotive industry and named as automatic transmission, semi-automatic transmission, and manual transmission. The work of these transmissions is similar to their names.
On talking about the transmission components, it includes all those parts which provide controlled the application of the power. In other words, it can also be termed as the gearbox.
A transmission helps in reducing the speed of the output shaft than the input shaft. Thus gains some mechanical advantage which in turn results in increased torque. It provides the output speed at a different range and the whole process is done with the help of gears.

In automatic vehicles, the major transmission components are torque converter, hydraulic system, and planetary gear train. These components help the vehicle in providing effective use of power as per requirement.

Thus transmission components are important from vehicles point of view as it helps in decreasing rpm generated by the engine along with an increase in torque for the running of a vehicle.

Upcoming expansions and investments in the field of automobiles.

There are various auto component manufacturers in India which achieved a large growth in the previous few decades. India is situated very near to the major automotive markets like Europe. So most of the dominating companies are trying double sore work by manufacturing few components themselves and other by the use of Indian facilities. The major transformation going to happen in this field are as follows:
Globally known adient is aiming to start India's biggest plant for testing and prototyping facility of automobiles in June in the current year.
Spark Malinda known for its auto components had started a technical center which will work on new innovations and take the company toward electrified solutions.

Fras-le from Brazil and ASK automotive came together to set up a plant for the production of linings and brake pads in Haryana for commercial vehicles. The investment for the work is nearly 15.6 million dollars.
Canadian auto component manufacturer- Magna international is also planning to add three new plants in India by 2019.
The German industrial and automotive parts maker with Indian arms named Schaeffer India is trying to invest 300 crore rupees in the session 2018-19.

Thus, we can say that India is going to achieve new peaks in the upcoming years in this sector.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW ON THE SHAFTS

Gears and shafts are two essential parts of a motor vehicle. These elements are necessary because they play a vital role in taking up the motion, speed, and direction of the car. Gears and shafts, this duo is used for changing the direction, controlling its movement and speed while driving.

VARIOUS TYPES OF SHAFTS

Like all others, shafts are also available in various ranges.
Few of them are-
Gear Transmission Enabled: This kind of shaft is used for transmission of the equipment. It is manufactured in high and medium carbon steel.   Spline Shaft: This one has to be used in portable power machinery to drive the textile, agricultural and oil pump types of machinery.
General One: This general one is utilized in the conventional vehicles to control the drive of the car. This part is connected to the engine from one end and on the top of it; the steering is placed to monitor the vehicle as per the will of the driver. The length of the part is usually 40-500 mm. Pinion: This type in this region is popular with the users because of its high capacity and low maintenance cost. It also has corruption resistance even after the long time usage.

 TYPES OF SHAFTS COUPLING

Different types of shafts coupling are there which come in the market. Such as beam, chain, grid, bellows, jaw, grid, clamping are some of the linkages of the shafts.
Beam coupling consists of single or multiple cuts.Below are used for controlled transmission for power and chain coupling is used for considerable power.

Gear and shaft are vital and Working of both of them should be clear and accordingly it should be used when in need.

The Activities of the Powertrain Components.

The primary job of the powertrain components is to convert the fuel energy into the power that drives the vehicle on the road. The engine is assembled with the parts that transmit the power to the wheels so that they can be moved according to the requirement.

The Parts

The powertrain components that take part in the transmission of the power to the wheels are-

1. Engine
The engine is the main body that derives the energy from the fuel. The parts of it start its procedure to process to refine the energy to transform into the power.

2. Transmission
This system means the transformation of the generated power converted from the energy to the wheels of a vehicle.

3. Drive Shaft
The drive shaft takes part in transmitting torque and the rotation of the wheels.

4. Differentials
The prime job of the differentials is to allow the outer wheels move faster than the inner ones. It becomes necessary when the vehicle takes turns.

The Advancement in the Results

Like all other materials, the powertrain components are also undergoing revolutionary changes. The changes are taking place because of the demand for higher speed, velocity, and smoothness while driving. For this, the parts should be modified into higher capacities.

Get an Idea about Transmission Components.

The part of the engine is connected somehow with the parts of the wheel. Everybody knows that the wheels cannot move until the power comes from the engine. The connecting parts of the wheels and the engine transmit the power from the engine to the spinning wheels. Transmission components help in this transformation of the power.

·         How the Transmission Works

The transforming power originates in the engine and gets a pass on to the wheels. It motivates the rotation of the wheels per minute. The arrangements of transmission components are different in the all-wheel driven car; front wheel drove car and back wheel drive the car.

ü  The Parts Used in this System

The parts that help in the transferring the power from the engine to the wheels are-

1. Planetary Set of Gears

This set of gears works in cooperation and contributes to keep up the RPM ratio intact. This system has a set up like our planetary system-a central part (the sun) surrounded by two smaller parts (the planets).

2. Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system helps in controlling the shifting of the gears. At the same time, it monitors the fluid while the transformation of the power.

3. Torque Converter

This part of the transmission component is found on the automatic cars. It takes the job of the clutch in that.

Avail the best service from Auto components manufacturers in India

While India may not be a developed industrial nation, the Auto parts manufacturers in India have progressed a great deal. When car manufacturing began in India for the common man, a new age was launched. Millions of citizens who once owned scooters and motorcycles can afford to buy small cars nowadays.  MNCs have now set up manufacturing and assembly plants for automobiles all over India in states like Gujarat and Karnataka, and the future looks very bright. Three wheelers for transport services, buses, and metro trains - all of them require hundreds of components in huge quantity.

The parent company cannot manufacture all the little parts. Small sister companies spread out in industrial estates all over India are entrusted with the task. Both the vehicles and the components are not only sold in India but across the world in dozens of countries.

Just like in China, the lower materials and labor costs in India make the manufacture of auto components very much profitable.  The cost would be a fraction compared to the expenses involved in developed European countries or America. The quality is first rate because of highly developed research facilities, design, and performance.

The turnover of the Auto components manufacturers in India is expected to reach US$115 billion by FY2021. In FY2016, auto parts exports reached US$10.8 billion. The Indian auto parts industry employs 19 million workers and creates 7% of the nation’s GDP. Stable governments have helped and the growing purchasing power in domestic markets. Infrastructure has developed according to increasing needs and globalization has resulted in smarter work.

The Foreign Direct Investment in the Indian automobile industry between April 2000 and September 2016 amounted to US$ 15.80 billion. The Indian government’s Automotive Mission Plan 2006-2016 resulted in tremendous growth. The AMP 2016-20126 hopes to create 50 million jobs.  By 2025, the industry would become the third largest in the world.

What are transmission components?

If you have ever wondered how an automatic transmission works, it is because of the transmission components. A modern transmission consists of many systems and components that are designed in a manner which helps in working together in a symphony of clever hydraulic, mechanical and electrical technology. This has evolved over the past few years into what most of the people have considered it to be a form of art. There are many transmission components manufacturers who are responsible for the manufacturing of these important components.
The main components that are included in a transmission system are as follows.
·         A planetary gear set
These planetary gear sets are part of the mechanical systems that are responsible for providing various reverse as well as forward gear ratios.
·         A hydraulic system
This component uses a very special transmission components fluid that is sent under a lot of pressure. This is done by using an oil pump through the valve body in order to control the clutches as well as the bands. This helps in controlling the planetary gear sets.

·         The seals and gaskets
The seals and gaskets are used to keep oil in the place where it is supposed to be placed. It will help in preventing any leakages.
·         A torque converter
A torque converter acts like a clutch that allows the vehicle to come to a complete stop while in gear. This can be done even when the engine is still in the running process.
·         A modulator and a governor
A governor and modulator or a throttle cable monitor speed is responsible for determining when to cause the shift.
·         Computer

A computer is responsible for controlling the shift points on the brand new vehicles and also directs the electrical solenoids in order to shift the flow of oil to an appropriate transmission component. The important thing here is everything must be done at the right time.

Transmission Components Manufacturer in India

Transmission Components: Types of Clutch

Dog Clutch: The design of the clutch is made in such way that one pushes into the other which will cause the rotation of both the shafts at the same speed and these would never slip.

Friction Clutch: The technique of friction clutch which is used mostly is the friction clutch. Surface friction is used to transmit the torque between both the faces of the clutch.

Safety Clutch: This clutch is also known as the torque limiter which allows the slip of a rotating shaft. Safety clutch could be the example of a large mower of grass on the driving shaft. If the grass mower has some unwanted substance like stone or anything else there, it stops immediately and doesn’t hamper the blades.

Hydraulic Clutch: In this, the shafts are not in contact with each other because these are coupled in a hydrodynamic manner. These are just an alternative to the mechanical clutches and are also unsteady in transmitting the torque. The main problem in this is related to the coupling in the hydraulic clutches.

Cone Clutch: These clutches are made with conical surface and can be also said to be as the frictional clutches. There would be difference relating the normal surface of the friction

Summary
It could be said that clutch as a part of the Transmission Components plays a vital role in the working of a train. The power is produced by the engine and carried to the wheels. Clutch is only responsible for engaging and disengaging the engine when the driver shifts the gears.

A BRIEF OUTLOOK ON GEAR AND SHAFTS

Gear has an old history and its been in use since the ancient time. It can easily be identified by the shape such as involute gear, cycloidal gear. Gear can be classified as a rotating machine which has teeth cut around cylindrical or cone surfaced and had equal spacing. Shaft position also helps in the classification of Gear such as shaft gears and non-intersecting shaft gear. Gear and Shafts are a significant part of the transmission. Both have different types which have specific working. A shaft is a machine which usually rotates in the circular motion. Pulley and gear are fixed on the shaft for its working.

Screw gear is the pair of helical hands with an angle of 45 degrees on non-intersecting, non-parallel shafts . The lubricant is important in this gear as power is produced by sliding of the tooth surface.
The internal gear is used in shaft coupling and gear drives. The external gear is paired with internal gear which has teeth cut on surfaces which can be cylindrical or cone. Teeth limitation is there to prevent the additional interfaces and problems.

Bevel gear has a surface which is like cone shaped.Pitch surface is like cone and teeth are cut along it. This gear is used to transmit force between two different shafts.
Spur Gear is a cylindrical gear and belongs to the category of parallel shaft gear. It is one of the most commonly used because of its accuracy and easy production.

Transmission shafts and Machine shafts are the two types in which shaft is classified. The countershaft is the example of transmission which is used for power transmission between source and machine that absorbs power whereas crankshaft comes into machine shafts.

Gear and Shafts are related to each other in working, and both are required for transmission and
