Types of Transmission Shafts

Both output and counter shaft gears are meshed but the output shaft gears are not permanently attached to it. These are the gears that are shifted manually by the driver. The gear selected is fastened and rotates the output shaft along with it, while the others rotate freely until another one is selected.
